Our Purpose

Crossroads Prison Ministries is all about the good news of Jesus. We believe that it is only Jesus who breaks the chains of the prisoner and brings true freedom to all who come to him, regardless of where they are or have been. We also believe that everyone needs to hear this good news, ‘for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.’ (Romans 3:23). Jesus tells those who believe in him to ‘go and make disciples of all people’, including people in prison.

Crossroads is uniquely placed to help churches and their members reach those in prison with the good news of Jesus, through teaching and mentoring, pastoral care, and prayer; as we partner with you to mentor and equip prisoners for a life transformed by and for Jesus.

Staff and Volunteers

A team of staff and volunteers are responsible for keeping the ministry running. They are:

Jack - Office Manager

Now the office manager of Crossroads, Jack has been involved with the work of Crossroads for over 10 years. After establishing prison ministries in his native Fiji, Jack and his family responded to God’s call to move to Australia to be part of this growing ministry.

Since that time, he has seen Crossroads grow from a handful of dedicated volunteers to a team of over 400 all around Australia. Jack also plays guitar and often leads the office in song and in prayer.

You can contact Jack at office@cpm.org.au

Robyn - Administrator

Committed to serving in mission, both within her local church ministries and with us at Crossroads; Robyn brings her administrative and organisational abilities (and her many other talents) where they are needed.

Robyn keeps things running smoothly and ensures that our communication with chaplains and volunteers is maintained.

You can contact Robyn at office@cpm.org.au

Mary - Mentor Support

With a lifetime of teaching experience, and after years on the overseas mission field; Mary now serves with Crossroads as our Mentor Support Coordinator.

Mary provides training resources, keeps our volunteers up to date with the ministry, and will be found praying at all times.

You can contact Mary at mentors@cpm.org.au

Our Beliefs

The Bible is God's Word: we can rely on it to guide us

The Holy Scriptures as originally given by God are divinely inspired, infallible and entirely trustworthy, and they are the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

Heb. 4:12, Matt. 5:17-18, 2 Tim. 3:16-17, Psa. 119:160

Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour

Our Lord Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless human life, divine miracles, vicarious and atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, mediatorial work, and personal return in power and glory.

1 Cor. 15:3-4, Heb. 7:25-27, John 1:1-4, Rom. 5:6-8, Col. 1:15-20

Salvation is by grace, through faith and not by works

The salvation of lost and sinful humanity is made possible by God’s grace, through faith apart from works, through Christ’s blood shed on the cross, and through the regeneration of the Holy Spirit.

Eph. 2:8-9, Rom. 3:21-28, Rom.5:1-11

We are called to be unified with all believers

We believe in the unity of the Spirit among all true believers, who are the Church, the Body of Christ.

John 17:20-23, Eph. 4:4-6, 1 Cor. 12:12-26, Gal. 3:26-29

There is one true God, who is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Matt. 3:16-17, Matt. 28:19, John 15:26, 2 Cor. 13:14

The Holy Spirit lives in us, enabling us to follow Christ

The Holy Spirit dwells within all believers, enabling them to live a holy life, to witness and to work for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Mark 13:11, Matt. 10:19-20, Luke 12:11-12, Rom. 8:1-17, 1 Cor. 12:4-11, Gal. 5:13-25

The dead will be resurrected

The resurrection of both the saved and the lost will occur when Christ returns. Those that are saved will experience the resurrection of eternal life; those that are lost will experience the resurrection of eternal death.

John 5:28-29, Matt. 25:46, 1 Thes. 4:13-17, 1 Pet. 1:3-5
